About me

cindy micova psychologue psychotherapeute bruxelles gemblouxI am Cindy Micova, clinical psychologist.

I began my studies at the University of Aix-Marseille, and at the University of Geneva. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Clinical and Psychopathological Psychology from the ULB.Etterbeek – Gembloux

I had the opportunity to work with children in the context of psychological assessment and therapeutic support in Switzerland, and was able to work as an educational assistant with adolescents in a high school in France. I have also had the opportunity to work with young children with autistic and psychotic disorders as an educator.

About therapy

Whether you are going through a difficult period in your life, whether you are experiencing relational, emotional or affective difficulties, the goal of the consultations is not to ‘format’ you, but to allow you to find a safe place to deposit something of your experience.

Here are a few non-exhaustive examples: Cindy Micova

  • Anxiety;
  • Difficulties at school;
  • School bullying;
  • Managing emotions;
  • Changes or difficulties in the family…

The consultations will aim to provide a safe place to deposit something of one’s experiences and sufferings. The first interviews generally aim to determine what brings a person to the psychologist, and to define, with the patient, what the therapeutic project is.

Who is it for?

As a psychologist, I welcome children, from 4 years old, adolescents, adults and seniors.  This accompaniment can be done within the framework of a difficult period of life, leading to difficulties of relational, emotional, affective or behavioral orders.

Training

In order to be able to best accompany the people I will meet, I am committed to continuous training in order to enrich my knowledge and skills, and thus to have various tools at my disposal, in order to best adapt to each situation.

  • Master in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology – ULB – 2019-2021;
  • Victimology and psychotraumatology – ULB – 2021-2022;
  • Eating disorders in children and adolescents – ULB – September 2022;
  • Clinical support for parenthood – ULB – January 2023.

Couples therapy

When a couple’s situation is such that the two people can no longer put up with each other, or that communication becomes practically impossible or at the least is very difficult, then it is worth calling a counsellor to try and re-establish communication and review the problems.

Psychotherapy sessions

What is fascinating in many of our psychotherapy sessions, is the relatively limited time that is needed before the psychologists understands your problem and has a clear picture of it. When you come to your consultation session and tell your psychologist about your problem, we will first of all consider together how this problem occurs, where it comes from and the impact it has on you and your life.

A Psychologist’s way of treating stress and anxiety

Human beings are by nature frequently subjected to fear: a threatening situation, moments in life categorised by uncertainty, and apprehension – there are so many moments which generate a feeling of fear or danger. This danger can be real but also projected, imagined, or produced by traumas which are our own and which we haven’t been able to move on from.
